The All Japan Kokeshi Contest is one of the largest kokeshi festivals in Japan, featuring kokeshi from all over the country and craftsmen competing with their top skills. Traditional kokeshi as well as new types and creative kokeshi will be on display. A local products festival will also be held simultaneously. At this event, participants can experience painting kokeshi while learning from traditional kokeshi craftsmen from the Tohoku region in a "Premium Painting Experience with Demonstrating Craftsmen" (reservation required).
