78th Shiogama Minato Festival

A magnificent festival that巡幸s the Matsushima Bay, one of Japan's three great scenic views
A maritime festival counted among Japan's three great boat festivals. The ceremonial boats "Ryuhomaru" and "Ho-Omaru," carrying portable shrines from Shiwahiko Shrine and Shiogama Shrine,巡幸 the Matsushima Bay, one of Japan's three great scenic views, accompanied by many support boats. On land, a parade is held at the foot of the stairs at Shiogama Shrine, contributing to the festival's excitement. The finale features the return of the two sacred shrines that climbed the 202 steps of the stairs after the sea procession. Their magnificent appearance is truly moving.
