Exhibition of Masterpieces of Realistic Painting - Hoki Art Museum Collection -

This exhibition focuses on four key figures leading the world of realism: Sousuke Morimoto, Hiroshi Noda, Osamu Koboi, and Nobuyuki Shimamura. Morimoto depicts scenes that seem to resonate with music and idealized female figures, while Noda explores the theme of 'existence.' Koboi captures traces of his subjects and the passage of time, and Shimamura pursues the beauty of women and insects enveloped in light. Each piece encapsulates the entire life of the artist, and even with the same themes, individuality shines through. Works by noted artists, including those with ties to Kyushu, will also be introduced. Enjoy the forefront of realistic painting.
