Sumiyoshi Taisha Moon Viewing Festival

A mystical atmosphere for the moon-viewing ritual

Sumiyoshi Taisha

10/6(Mon)~ 18:00~

The Moon Viewing Festival is a special ceremony held at Sumiyoshi Taisha on the day of the full moon in autumn. The ceremony takes place at the First Main Shrine, where offerings such as the recitation of poetry, the reading of haiku, dance music, and children's Sumiyoshi dance are presented as the full moon rises in the middle of the reflective bridge. The enchanting atmosphere created by the bridge and the full moon is emotional, drawing many people who come to enjoy the autumn full moon on the day of the event.
