Sumiyoshi Taisha Shichi-Go-San Celebration

Praying for the healthy growth of children
In the past, children celebrated their growth stages with ceremonies: 3 years old for 'Kamioki', 5 years old for 'Hakama-gi', and 7 years old for 'Obi-tokize'. Now, at each age, they visit the shrine to pray for growth, gratitude, and good health. Sumiyoshi Taisha provides guidance using the Japanese age system (kazoedoshi), but many still use their actual age. Although originally on November 15, more families are prioritizing their schedules, so Sumiyoshi Taisha accepts ceremonies every day.
