Traveling Paintings

Let's go on a journey!

Tahara City Museum

10/4(Sat)~11/30(Sun) 09:00~17:00

"Travel" allows you to encounter new cultures and experience the extraordinary. During the Edo period, literati painters also traveled, capturing the landscapes and ancient paintings they saw on their journeys. Additionally, works that constructed ideal landscapes, as if traveling within the world of the painting, were also produced. Let's enjoy landscape paintings from the Edo period, including those by Watanabe Kazan, with a sense of travel.
