Takahama Omant Festival

A majestic festival where young people in happi coats and tabi shoes leap onto horses running with bells and artificial flowers on their backs in a circular horse ground made of logs. The festival is held mainly in Takahama City and Higashiura Town in the Chita Peninsula area, but Takahama's 'omanto' is known throughout the country. Among them, the 'Omant Festival' held at Kasuga Shrine is designated as an intangible folk cultural asset of Takahama City.
