Sumiyoshi Taisha Shiwase Oharae Ceremony & New Year's Eve Festival

A ritual to purify the sins and impurities of the year. Participants attend the ceremony and use "Kirinusa" to cleanse themselves, wishing for the dispelling of epidemics and the invitation of good fortune. The New Year's Eve Festival will take place following the Oharae Ceremony. As the last day of the year comes to an end, we express our gratitude for the year gone by and pray for the arrival of a good New Year.
