Special Exhibition 'Completion of Repair: Buddhist Statue from Nozoregawa Village, Hira District'

In Nozoregawa Village, Hira District, a wooden seated statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, believed to be made by a Kamakura period Kamakura school sculptor, is preserved as a designated cultural property of Nara Prefecture. At the restoration workshop of Nara Historical Art and Culture Village, the repair of this statue has been carried out over two years starting from the 5th year of Reiwa. This exhibition commemorates the completion of the repair, allowing a special presentation of the statue. Be sure to appreciate the magnificent appearance of the revived seated statue of Shakyamuni Buddha up close.
