The movie 'Eight Dog Chronicles,' which gained attention when it was released in the fall of 2024, is a live-action adaptation of the long novel 'Nanso Satomi Hakkenden' by Kyokutei Bakin, set in Awa Province. This performance spurred the launch of the 'Eight Dog Chronicles Project' in Chiba Prefecture, where various exhibitions related to 'Hakkenden' will be held at six museums in the prefecture from May to December of this year. At this museum, ukiyo-e related to animals such as dogs, cats, and fish will be displayed, including actor prints depicting kabuki performances of 'Hakkenden.'
