"The Kamifukuoka Tanabata Festival" is held mainly around the shopping streets near Kamifukuoka Station, decorated with about 250 bamboo ornaments, and features numerous food stalls, making it a festival full of charm and tradition. Major events include a bamboo ornament competition, an Awa Odori dance performance, and various performances by different groups, with plenty of highlight events. Every year, the festival takes place over two days and attracts about 170,000 visitors, enjoyed by the local citizens. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Fujimino City, adding even more attractions to the festival. ■Notes This year marks the 71st holding of the event.
