Special Exhibition 'Rice Fields and Life - Grow, Create, and Catch -'

Introducing the diverse uses of old rice fields!

Fuchu City Museum of Local History, Main Building 1st Floor Special Exhibition Room

7/19(Sat)~9/7(Sun) 09:00~17:00

"What do you do in a rice field?" If you ask, you'll probably get the answer, "It's a place to grow rice." But is that all there is to the answer? When asked about the old rice fields, farmers in Fuchu might say, "After the rice harvest, we immediately prepared the fields for growing wheat" or "Fish would come in from the waterway, and we'd catch them for our meals." Far from just growing rice, let's take a look at the lives of people who made good use of the rice fields.
