Winter渡祭

The Fura-yama Shrine rituals are held twice a year, on December 15 (Winter渡祭) and January 15 (Spring渡祭). December is referred to as 'Winter渡祭' and January as 'Spring渡祭', both called 'Otariya'. The night festival of Fura-yama Shrine announces the end of the year and the end of New Year celebrations for the citizens of Utsunomiya. On the day of Otariya, there will be a procession of the portable shrine at midnight and the offering of the designated cultural property, Dangu dance.
