13th Oishi Hiki Doukan Festival Fireworks Display

Recreating the "Oishi Hiki" for the construction of Edo Castle in modern times
In the past, stones from the Izu Peninsula were used for the construction of Edo Castle. Known as "Izu Stone," these stones were transported from the port of Higashiizu to Edo. This festival recreates the transportation work called "Oishi Hiki" in modern times and carries it on today. On the day of the event, helpers for pulling the stones will be recruited (first 250 people). There will also be performances of the local folk art, Atagawa Doukan Drumming, and food stalls. The climax features a series of fireworks that will color the night sky of the hot spring area.
