The First Exhibition of Imperial Treasures in Shizuoka Prefecture
The Imperial Palace's Treasury Museum preserves, researches, and displays artworks handed down through the Imperial family. From approximately 6,200 items in the collection, 48 pieces are introduced, including modern Japanese paintings by Seihō Takeuchi and Taikan Yokoyama, paintings and crafts that demonstrate the connection between the Imperial family and Shizuoka, as well as famous swords presented to Emperor Meiji, who was known as a sword enthusiast, by former feudal lords. This is the first exhibition in Shizuoka Prefecture showcasing treasures of the Imperial family; why not enjoy the crystallization of traditional techniques and beauty?
