Kotanijo Castle Ruins (Reception: Sengoku Guide Station)

Kotanijo Castle was the residence of the Sengoku warlord Azai clan, and during the era of the third lord Nagamasa, fierce battles were fought against Oda Nobunaga. The ruins of Kotanijo Castle not only well preserve the remains of the mountain castle, but traces of the fierce battles remain in various places. Historically, it is a significant site, and there are many highlights in terms of stories, including Nagamasa, his wife Oichi, and their daughters, the Azai Three Sisters. For a limited time, a shuttle bus will run from the foot of the mountain to the castle ruins. At the key points of the Kotanijo Castle ruins, local storytellers will guide you.
