13th Toyosato Light Music Contest

The old school building complex of Toyosato Elementary School in Toyosato Town is said to be the model for the school building in the anime 'K-On!' Since 2009, it has been a 'sacred place' attracting many visitors from both within and outside the prefecture and even from abroad. The Toyosato Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 'Toyosato Light Music Contest', a contest-style live event that focuses on high school bands from all over the country to provide a venue for young people to express themselves musically and promote cultural revitalization through music in the community at the auditorium of the school building complex. ■ Note The best band will be awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award.
