Experience the autumn leaves in a garden rich in history and charm

Hachinohe Nanbu Clan Garden

Late Oct~Early Nov 10:00~16:00

During the Edo period, in the 10th year of the Tenpo era, Satsuuma Clan's 8th lord, Shimazu Shigehide, saw his son Nobuyuki become a groomed adopted son of the Hachinohe Nanbu family, and he was welcomed as the 9th lord of the Hachinohe clan. This led to the establishment of a resting place (Taya) for the lord, marking the beginning of the garden's history. The style of the garden is 'Hōrai-zan style, strolling type dry landscape', and it is only open to the public twice a year, in spring and autumn. It’s a rare opportunity to enjoy a garden filled with history and charm and the beautiful autumn leaves. Be sure to visit.
