34th Yanai Goldfish Lantern Festival

An event themed around goldfish lanterns
A major summer event themed around Yanai's folk craft, the "Yanai Goldfish Lantern." It welcomes homecoming visitors during Obon and other occasions with local handicrafts. The venue is adorned with Yanai Goldfish Lanterns, illuminating about 2,500 pieces. The faint light spilling from the lanterns creates a fantastic atmosphere. The main attraction is the "Goldfish Nebuta," which parades boldly, sometimes wildly, through the festival grounds. The "Goldfish Lantern Dance" by the Yanai Fan Club is also a must-see.
