[Autumn Leaves - Peak Viewing] Kumejiro Gorge

The magnificent autumn leaves reflect in the grand gorge

Shinshu Shimmachi Kumejiro Gorge

Late Oct~Early Nov

A scenic spot in Nagano City, sung about in the Nagano Prefecture song "Shinano no Kuni", and also considered the stage for the folklore "If the pheasant doesn't sing...". The maples planted by Sokuma Zōzan halfway up the mountain in the gorge turn a beautiful red, creating a stunning contrast against the green surface of the Saigawa River.
