Uchino Tengu Shrine Reitaisai
The dedicated kagura and sumo are a must-see!
The festival at Uchino Tengu Shrine will be held on October 19th. The deity is Takeminakata no Mikoto. The Uchino area sent many soldiers during the First Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War, but it is revered that not a single soldier died, attributed to the blessings of the Tengu Shrine. On the day, the lion kagura will captivate the people. There will also be a sumo wrestling exhibition by local children in the precincts, with lively cheers echoing.
