Tanimachi Noh (September)

The Tanimachi Noh performance in September will showcase the Noh plays 'Teika' (Hirotsugu Yamamoto and others), 'Adachigahara' (Reiko Yamamoto and others), and the Kyogen 'Nikujuhachi' (Munehiko Shigeyama and others). The Noh 'Adachigahara,' inspired by the legend of the demon hag of Adachigahara, features an old woman with a sad past who had no choice but to become a demon hag. She transforms into a furious demon upon witnessing what she does not want to see, making it a popular piece along with 'Dojoji' and 'Aoi no Ue,' referred to as the three demon women. *Admission is not allowed for preschool children.
