Vivid autumn leaves coloring the strolling garden

Ichijima Residence

Early Nov~Late Nov 09:00~17:00

The Ichijima family has its origins in the Tanba region and gradually flourished after being transferred to Shibata with the Mizonokuchi lord's move in 1598 (Keicho 3rd year). The building demonstrates a simple yet elegant style as a representative residential architecture from the early Meiji period, and the surrounding strolling garden is rich in natural beauty, with trees surrounding the wide pond reflecting each of the four seasons. In March 1962 (Showa 37), the twelve buildings of the Ichijima residence were designated as cultural properties of Niigata Prefecture.
