Itami Iphonic Hall - Small Hall 1

10/23(Thu) 19:00~20:30

Shōmyō is vocal music chanted by monks, using musical techniques such as melody, phrasing, and rhythm to chant Buddhist scriptures. Under the guidance of monk Bun-tai Ikagawa, who performs Shōmyō both domestically and internationally, we will hold a workshop to experience Tendai Shōmyō, characterized by its relaxed and graceful chanting among various sects. In addition to the shōmyō experience, there will be a brief introduction to its history, collaboration with overseas choirs, and stories from overseas performances.
