Takasuzan Kannon-do & Takasuzan Suspension Bridge Park

Early Nov~Mid-Nov

It is said that Takasuzan Kannon was founded about 1300 years ago by the monk Hohen. It was built in an architectural style known as 'kakezukuri,' where the rear part is supported by rocks and the front is supported by pillars. The current hall was reconstructed during the Edo period, but the three wooden Buddhist statues enshrined inside date back to the Heian period. Additionally, to protect cultural assets, a Jigen-do has been established beneath the hall. A little downstream on the municipal road of the Kannon Hall, there is the 'Tokusin Bridge,' designated as a tangible cultural asset by the prefecture, which is the oldest stone bridge in the prefecture.
