A giant ginkgo tree standing 48 meters tall with a circumference of 8.2 meters in the grounds of Ooi Shrine. It is designated as a natural monument of the prefecture and is estimated to be over 1,100 years old. The golden carpet of fallen leaves covering the ground is a must-see, and sometimes you can see people gathering up the ginkgo leaves and spreading them out. During the autumn foliage season, festival events are held, and for a limited time, the ginkgo is illuminated, allowing you to experience a magical world.
