A New Tradition of Hiroshima

Fukuro-machi Park

11/1(Sat) 11:00~20:00

11/2(Sun) 11:00~20:00

The O-Inoko Festival, a new tradition of Hiroshima, is celebrated by striking a 1.5-ton large stone suspended in the air with the power of 88 bamboo poles, wishing for good fortune. The festival embodies the spirit of the old saying, "Inoko, inoko, let’s pound the inoko rice cake, may we prosper, may we prosper..." as children circle around the Inoko Stone, exhaling white breath, and has been revived in a style suitable for us living in the present, while inheriting this spirit. There will also be stalls featuring dishes made from seasonal ingredients and those themed around the O-Inoko Festival! ■Notes We are recruiting volunteers to help elevate the O-Inoko Festival together.
