Samurai from All Over the Country

Samurai from All Over the Country

―From Tohoku to Kyushu, from Sengoku to Edo―

Tairan Historical Art Museum

9/23(Tue)~1/25(Sun) 10:00~17:00

The emergence of Oda Nobunaga marked the beginning of the Sengoku period towards unification of the nation. Subsequently, Toyotomi Hideyoshi brought an end to the Sengoku era, leading to the governance of the Edo shogunate by Tokugawa Ieyasu. During this time, various samurai appeared across the country like a riot of flowers. This mini-exhibition will introduce various samurai from different regions of the archipelago, from Tohoku to Kyushu, based on historical materials held by the museum.
