Sakura Blooming at Hattanda Park

A cherry blossom spot loved by the locals
Hattanda Park is located in the Shimmachi area of the Meiji district. It is the site of the castle of the Onodera clan, who were responsible for guarding the Yonezawa area along with Takatani Castle during the Warring States period. Remnants such as the dry moat and earthen mounds still exist, evoking images of that time. In 1956, cherry trees were planted, and in recent years, tree planting has continued, making it a renowned cherry blossom spot thanks to the efforts of the Hattanda Park Preservation Society and the Chamber of Commerce.
