Incredibly interesting! The world of Ukiyo-e

Hiroshige Museum

8/1(Fri)~9/29(Mon) 10:00~17:00

What exactly is "Ukiyo-e"? How is it made? How did people in Edo enjoy it? Ukiyo-e prints are called "Nishiki-e" due to their vivid colors and were loved by the public as a part of Edo's pop culture, similar to modern manga and anime. This exhibition introduces various aspects of Ukiyo-e, such as genres, ways to enjoy it, production processes, and the techniques of craftsmen from different angles. Once you learn how to appreciate it, Ukiyo-e becomes even more enjoyable!
