Maki-e Experience: Chopstick Making with Lacquer

Maki-e Experience: Chopstick Making with Lacquer
Scene of the workshop

Let's make our own lacquer chopsticks that can be used every day!

Azumino Takahashi Setsurou Memorial Museum

10/18(Sat) 13:00~16:00

10/19(Sun) 13:00~16:00

We invite an instructor from the Tokyo University of the Arts' Lacquerware Research Department to teach you how to paint patterns with colored lacquer on lacquered chopsticks and apply maki-e, allowing you to create your own original chopsticks. Since you will receive careful instruction, even beginners can feel secure in creating their own. Not only can you experience traditional craft techniques, but you can also create tools that you can actually use every day. It is also recommended as a souvenir from your trip to Azumino! *To apply, please call the Azumino Takahashi Setsurou Memorial Museum.
