[Autumn Leaves - Best Viewing] Bijodaira

Taking the Tateyama Cable Car, you will rapidly ascend to an elevation of about 500m, arriving at Bijodaira Station at an elevation of 977m. Surrounding the station is the massive 'Bijosugi' tree, which has a legend that gives the area its name, and nearby you can find ancient beech trees and one of Japan's premier primeval forests of Tateyama cedar, over 100 years old. In addition to enjoying forest bathing and bird watching, it is also known as a power spot for romantic success. In autumn, Bijodaira becomes even more beautiful, enveloped in rich colors not just of red and yellow but also deep green and pale green.

Tateyama Station: approximately 900 spaces in the parking lot, approximately 600 spaces in the temporary parking lot. Ogiwasawa Parking: 230 spaces (free), 350 spaces (paid), 600 to 800 spaces (free parking available during busy times).

Access

About 40 minutes from Hokuriku Expressway Tateyama IC, about 60 minutes from Toyama IC to Tateyama Station. Private cars can only reach Tateyama Station (Toyama) and Ogiwasawa Station (Nagano).

Access (Public)

From Tateyama Station, take the Tateyama Cable Car to Bijodaira Station. From Ogiwasawa Station, use the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Alight at Bijodaira Station on the Tateyama Kogen Bus.
