Exhibition 'Kilns and Kiln Tools of Edo Period Fukuoka'

Exhibition 'Kilns and Kiln Tools of Edo Period Fukuoka'

Introducing the research results of modern pottery in Fukuoka Prefecture

Kyushu Historical Museum, Exhibition Room 2

10/7(Tue)~12/27(Sat) 09:30~16:30

Fukuoka Prefecture is known for pottery such as 'Koishihara ware', 'Ueno ware', and 'Takatō ware', which have continued since the Edo period. However, the actual state of archaeological sites related to pottery, such as kilns from the Edo period, has not been sufficiently clarified. Since fiscal year 2020, Fukuoka Prefecture has conducted distribution surveys of modern pottery-related archaeological sites and compiled basic data for future protection. This exhibition introduces the history of modern pottery in Fukuoka Prefecture based on the research results and kiln tools and unburned materials.
