Zuiryu-ji Temple, the ancestral temple of Maeda Toshinaga, the second lord of the Kaga Maeda clan and the founder of Takaoka, is a famous Soto Zen temple and a national treasure. The event 'Autumn National Treasure Zuiryu-ji Temple: Night Prayer and Daifuku Market' features the national treasure's sanmon (mountain gate), butsu-den (Buddha hall), and hodo (law temple) illuminated, creating a magnificent atmosphere where the colorful grand architecture floats in the night, a fantastical display that takes your breath away. A Daifuku Market is held in the parking lot in front of the temple, showcasing food vendors and shops from both within and outside Takaoka City, with the sounds of sales announcements filling the air.
