Special Exhibition "Nobuo Origuchi's Noto and Etchu"

Special Exhibition "Nobuo Origuchi's Noto and Etchu"
Spring 1951, 64 years old. In the living room of the Oide family.

Uncovering the issues of the hearts of ancient people as seen by Nobuo Origuchi

Takaoka City Manyo Historical Museum

7/16(Wed)~9/15(Mon) 09:00~18:00

This exhibition explores the relationship between Nobuo Origuchi and the Manyoshu. In Noto, Hakui, there is a father-son grave with his adopted son, Haruyo Origuchi. Nobuo Origuchi was one of the people who recognized the value of the poems of Ie-mochi early on and took an interest in Ie-mochi's life and actions in Etchu. Centered around materials such as his handwritten manuscripts and poem scrolls secretly held by the Ikeda family, we will explore his connections with his disciples and the Manyoshu, investigate the traces Origuchi left in Noto and Etchu, and unearth the issues of the hearts of ancient people that Origuchi perceived.
