Film Screening and Lecture: "Sake Breweries of Saitama - The History and Challenges of Traditional Sake Making"

Saitama's Sake Breweries, the Beginning of a Story Brewing for the Future
In December of last year, "Traditional Sake Making in Japan" was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Saitama Prefecture is one of the leading sake-producing regions in the country, currently producing high-quality sake in 32 breweries. This time, we will convey the history and challenges of traditional sake making in Saitama through the screening of archival footage of sake breweries in Saitama Prefecture held by the public library and a lecture by Junichi Komori, the 13th generation sake brewer and president of the long-established brewery "Kama-ya" in Kazo City. Capacity is 300 people (first come, first served).
