Okayama Art Special Exhibition 'Norikatsu Nagao: Festivals, Nature, and Life - From Okayama and Kyoto to Okinawa'

The first exhibition in his hometown of Okayama
Dye artist Norikatsu Nagao (1940-) was born in Okayama City and studied at Kyoto City University of Arts (now: Kyoto City University of Arts) before apprenticing under textile dye artist Tonjiro Inagaki. He has created works focusing on festival scenes such as the Saidaiji Eyo Festival, and moved to Okinawa in 1995, serving as a professor at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts until 2006. His works are based on themes such as Okinawa's bountiful harvest festival, bullfighting, and the current situation surrounding Okinawa. This is his first exhibition showcasing a collection of works from early to recent pieces at the art museum in his hometown of Okayama.
