10/25(Sat)~12/7(Sun) 09:00~17:00

This exhibition introduces Katsuta Shoukin (1879-1963), a Japanese painter who taught at an art school in India upon recommendation from Tenshin Okakura and thrived on the national exhibition stage after returning to Japan. Despite being from Tanakaru Town in Fukushima Prefecture, Katsuta Shoukin has a deep connection to Kawagoe, as his father served the Matsudaira Suo-no-kami family, which became the lord of Kawagoe Domain at the end of the Edo period.
