NFAJ Program No. 68

Screening of silent films with live performances and explanations

National Film Archive Nagase Memorial Hall OZU (2nd floor)

11/25(Tue)~11/30(Sun)

A project to screen silent films with live performances and explanations by narrators. This time, we will begin with the domestic premiere of the digitally restored and longest version of 'The Tragedy of New Year's Eve' (1924), vividly revived by the joint restoration project between the National Film Archive and the Deutsche Kinemathek (2018-20), alongside masterpieces of silent film history such as D.W. Griffith's 'The Great Question' (1919), celebrating his 150th birthday, and Torajiro Saito's 'The Sky at Dawn' (1929), which was newly acquired in recent years, presenting a total of 6 programs with 6 works.
