Yoshimitsu Morita (1950-2011) emerged during the independent film movement of the 1970s and led Japanese cinema in the 1980s, continuing to produce a diverse range of works throughout his career. This special screening follows his footsteps, in conjunction with a concurrently held exhibition. It spotlights not only his directorial works but also his contributions as a screenwriter, examining his achievements, which have recently gained high acclaim overseas, through a program of 31 entries (38 works).
