New National Theatre Opera "Wozzeck"

A shocking work depicting the downfall of a soldier in poverty, "Wozzeck" by Alban Berg is a milestone of 20th-century opera, repeatedly performed around the world. It will be newly produced with a stellar cast including Meyer, who sang the same role in the 2009 performance, Bezuyen as the captain, Dazack as the drum major, and Davis as Marie. The new production is directed by the charismatic British director Richard Jones, with Kazushi Ono as the artistic director and conductor, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra providing the accompaniment. ■Notes Please note that changes to performers may occur due to unavoidable circumstances.
