Nishio Autumn Festival Cotton Ancestor Festival

The only shrine in the country that worships the Cotton God festival
This festival is held at Tenchiku Shrine, which has a legend that states a person from Tenjiku (ancient India) washed ashore during the Heian period and brought cotton. As the only shrine in the country dedicated to the Cotton God, traditional tools are used for the cotton beating ceremony. Additionally, in honor of the person from Tenjiku who washed ashore, a 'boat mikoshi' is offered to pray for health and longevity.
