"The Meiji Industrial Revolution Heritage of Japan" celebrates its 10th anniversary of registration

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the registration of the World Heritage "Meiji Industrial Revolution Heritage of Japan." These industrial heritage sites, which supported Japan's modernization, include the Miike Coal Mine and Miike Port (Omuta City), the Government-operated Yawata Steel Works (Kitakyushu City), and the Ogawa River Water Source Pump (Nakama City) in Fukuoka Prefecture. The panel exhibition will introduce these heritage sites through photos and texts, and discuss the significance of their registration as World Heritage and future preservation and utilization efforts.
