Ayabe Hachiman Shrine Ritual Procession

Autumn festival celebrating the abundant harvest in the Nakahara district of Miyaki Town
Every year on the autumnal equinox, a ritual of floating rise is offered for the fulfillment of wishes. A team of elementary school students with guns and spears, and young people carrying the 'shā-no-ke' (rhinoceros hair) walk about 1 km from the lower shrine to the main shrine in time with bells and drums. Every year, many vendors line the approach, and it is bustling with numerous spectators and worshippers. Especially, many people come to buy Ayabe's rice cakes, which are loved as a lucky charm of the Hizen warriors representing 'victory.' How about getting a souvenir from the festival?
