Katsuoji Temple is famous for its late-blooming cherry blossoms. As the cherry blossoms in the lower areas drop their flowers, the cherry blossoms at Katsuoji Temple reach their peak. Stepping into the 80,000-tsubo (about 263,000 square meters) temple grounds, the pale pink 'shidarezakura' welcomes visitors against a backdrop of deep green. The contrast between several types of cherry blossoms and nature is like viewing a beautiful painting.

Approximately 15 minutes by turning right at the 'Shimizu' intersection via National Route 171 from the Meishin Expressway 'Ibaraki' IC.
About 20 minutes by Hankyu Bus from 'Minoo Kayanostation' of the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Line.

- Saturdays only until 18:00 (acceptance ends 30 minutes prior). *The best viewing period for the cherry blossoms is usually from early April to late April (the cherry blossoms at Katsuoji Temple bloom late, reaching full bloom when the blossoms in the lower areas have fallen).
