Known nationwide as "Hase-dera Temple of Peonies." It is said to have begun when the Tang dynasty concubine, Ms. Bato, offered peonies in gratitude for the miraculous efficacy of the Kannon. Now, about 7000 peonies of approximately 150 varieties compete in bloom. A 'Peony Offering Ceremony' will be held on April 20th at 12:30, followed by a ritual offering at the main hall starting at 13:30. *In case of rain, the ritual will take place from Showa-ryo. From April 26 to May 11, a 'Peony Corridor' will be established (numerous potted peonies will be arranged along the approach and the slope of Arashi).
