Dainichi Falls is named after Dainichi Nyorai, which attracts faith from practitioners of Shugendo. It is located a short steep climb off the walking path, about ten minutes uphill, and very few people usually visit, making it known as a phantom waterfall. This waterfall, which has no pond at its base, allows you to get close to the very bottom, where you can gently lean into the softly flowing water like silk, close your eyes, and be hit by the waterfall. In this fantastical space where the sound of the flowing water echoes, negative ions abound, and the vibrant forest trees provide a momentary healing. ■Notes For healthy individuals aged 16 and older. There are hot springs near the reception area.
