The 7th century in East Asia was a tumultuous time aimed at a new order. The Baekje royal family, a clan that thrived as nobility during this era filled with chaos and creativity, traveled to Wa (ancient Japan). Based in present-day Osaka City and Hirakata City, they contributed to the completion of the Great Buddha of Todai-ji by discovering gold dust in Tagajo, their place of assignment. This exhibition offers a glimpse into the history of Osaka and the turbulent ancient East Asian society through the footprints of the ancient clan, the Baekje royal family, rich with such episodes.
