Tochigi Hydrangea Festival

Approximately 2500 hydrangeas bloom magnificently along both sides of the roughly 1000 stone steps leading to the front approach of Taiheizan Shrine and on the southern slope of Kengenshinbira. The hydrangeas such as Western, hortensia, and mountain hydrangeas bloom beautifully and welcome visitors. Why not experience the seasonal event 'Tochigi Hydrangea Festival' that colors early summer? During the period, events will also be held around the Hydrangea Slope Rest Station depending on the day. Events may be canceled due to weather conditions.

About 15 minutes by bus (to Kokugakuin) from 'Tochigi' Station on the JR Ryomo Line and Tobu Nikkō Line, get off at the last stop and walk about 5 minutes.
