Evening of the Kumano Navy Koza Kawachi Festival
The brave waterborne procession is a sight to behold
It is said that the Kawachi Festival at Kawachi Shrine conveys the triumphant appearance of the Kumano navy, which set out to battle in the Genpei War and achieved victory. Fireworks are launched at the finale of the main festival. As a summer tradition, many townspeople attend.
